Closures are required across the Outer Harbor and Grange rail line to assist with works on the Gawler Rail Electrification Project.

Below you will find information on:

April school holiday closure (10 April to 24 April)

Section of rail line: The full Outer Harbor and Grange line will be closed.

When: From Saturday 10 April to Saturday 24 April 2021.

Passenger services: Substitute bus services will be in place, as no train services will be operating.

Special events: This closure will remain in place during AFL matches and other major events. Additional substitute buses may be used during these events.

Substitute Buses

Adelaide Metro will always attempt to provide a frequency of service as outlined in the timetables, however traffic conditions, roadworks, and accidents cause delays in the frequency of services.

Route and bus stops

  • The H1 service will operate from Adelaide to Outer Harbor, servicing all substitute bus stops.
  • The O1 service will operate express between Adelaide and Woodville and then service all substitute bus stops between Woodville and Osborne.
  • The X1 service will operate to limit stops between Glanville, Ethelton and Port Adelaide then express to Adelaide.
  • The G1 Service will operate from Adelaide to Grange, servicing all substitute bus stops.

It's recommended that passengers consider multiple bus services for their travel. For example, a passenger from Midlunga heading to Adelaide, should consider catching the H1 to Glanville, then the X1 to Adelaide.

The substitute bus stops are positioned as close to the Outer Harbor and Grange line railway stations as practicable.

All substitute bus services to Adelaide (H1, O1, X1 & G1 to the City) will also service the City stops listed below at all times:

  • Currie Street stop E3 (Set down only).
  • King William Street stop Y2 (Set down only).
  • North Terrace stop W1 (End of service).
